Letting Go of What Cannot Be Held Back (2009)

SATB a cappella.  Available for free, but only to MN ensembles.

The final poem in “Playing the Black Piano” by the late Minnesota poet Bill Holm.  From a section reflecting on the loss of a dear friend, the poem reconciles with the knowledge that in the end you must let go and “practice your own song”.

Premiere performance in Spring, 2010, by the Southwest Minnesota State University Chorale
