Jenny Kiss’d Me (2011)

jennykissdmecoverTBB a cappella. (0:50)

A very brief gem of a poem by Leigh Hunt (1784-1859), in a short and simple setting.

There are several stories of the poem’s origin, but “Jenny” is probably Jane, wife of poet Thomas Carlyle, and the kiss a friendly greeting rather than a romantic encouter.

This work is part of a set of three pieces entitled “To the Ladies” and was premiered by the Southwest Minnesota State University Men’s Glee Club.
